All Saints Church sits beside the River Gipping in the medieval village of Sproughton. The building is originally the 14th century but was largely restored during the Victorian period. We have a large number of beautiful stained glass windows, by Alexander Gibbs, and a Christopher Whall window depicting St Christopher and the legend of Longinus in the north aisle.
Elizabeth Bull was buried in the church in 1634, and there is a colorful monument to her high up on the north wall above the altar. The pew ends are the work of Henry Ringham, an Ipswich craftsman who is now recognized as one of the great carvers of the century.
The church is currently open every Wednesday but we are hoping that this will increase as Covid restrictions are reduced. We are a small but friendly congregation and newcomers to our services can be sure of a warm welcome.
